
Originally from Franklin, Tennessee, Max Erwin (b. 1991) has written for diverse performers, ensembles, and opera collectives, and has scored over 40 film, TV, video game, commercial, and multimedia projects. His work is concerned with performance practice and the uses of music in culturally-determined narratives. He graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts on a presidential scholarship and is currently pursuing an MA in Critical and Applied Musicology at the University of Leeds, where he is the recipient of the Herbert Thompson Scholarship. Research interests include early serialism, 20th-century opera, and contemporary performance practice.
